75-year-old stops robbers posing as fake FedEx workers

A 75-year-old Howard Beach woman fought off two men disguised as FedEx employees as they tried to enter her home on Monday, according to police and published reports.

One of the perps entered the house near 156th Avenue and 90th Street around 1:30 p.m. and reportedly tried to lunge at the woman, identified as Margaret Mazzio, while the second suspect acted as a lookout.

She in turn hit the man in the face with her house phone, her daughter-in-law told reporters.

The suspects fled the house in a white vehicle without any property, according to the NYPD.

Following the incident, police have been going around the neighborhood to see if anyone has seen the suspects, it was reported.
