Former Major League greats mixed with A-list celebrities for the annual All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday, July 14 at Citi Field.

Many local recognizable stars participated in the game, while the Mets had four former franchise players on the field including Mike Piazza, Dwight Gooden, John Franco and Darryl Strawberry.

The legends and super stars split into a National and American League, representing the two Major League Baseball divisions.

Native New Yorker Kevin James, who starred in the TV sitcom “The King of Queens,” led the National League team to win the game along with Franco and Piazza. James was the MVP of the game for his outstanding energy; face-first sliding into second base for a double and making an amazing play at third base to rob radio host Craig Carton of a single.

Former New York Jets quarterback and radio host Boomer Esiason, comedian George Lopez, Yankees legend Bernie Williams and USA softball 2004 Olympic gold medalist Jennie Finch were among players that participated in the game.
