Shuttered Parkway Hospital to be auctioned

The shuttered Parkway Hospital building in Forest Hills will be auctioned off at the end of the month, according to a real estate data site.

The state closed the hospital at 70-35 113th Street in 2008. It has been vacant since.

Now the 70,000-square-foot property, with an outstanding lien of nearly $15 million, is up for sale, according to PropertyShark.

A Department of Finance spokesperson said the city sold liens on the property five times since 2008. Outstanding property taxes totaled $3.7 million, according to the department.

The last deed on record was from January 1975, when Parkway Hospital Associates bought the site.

An auction for the property will take place June 28 at the Queens Supreme Court building in Jamaica, The Real Deal first reported.

Former Parkway CEO Robert Aquino was sentenced to four months in prison last May after he pleaded guilty to bribing former State Senator Carl Kruger to try to keep the medical facility open.
