Rape suspect in custody

The 102nd Precinct’s Special Victims Unit has made an arrest in the rape of a 35-year-old woman.

According to a police source, Kevin Pazmini, 21, who has a prior arrest record, was taken into custody.

It was on Tuesday, July 26, at approximately 6 a.m., in the vicinity of 89th Street and Jamaica Avenue, that Pazmini allegedly followed the victim, a 35-year-old female, grabbed her from behind and placed her in a choke hold. He then allegedly proceeded to drag the victim into a alley where he punched her on the head, face and back and sexually assaulted her.

Maria A. Thomson, Executive Director of the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation and Woodhaven Business Improvement District expressed her thanks for the good police work.

“Anything that happens here, the 102 makes an arrest,” she told The Courier. “They do so much hard work with so little. We have so much faith in them.”
