Four arrested in rash of robberies

The NYPD has made four arrests in connection with a string of robberies in Queens and Brooklyn.

On Thursday, July 16, police officers assigned to the Patrol Borough Queens North Auto Larceny Unit conducted a car stop of a Chevy Astro Van with four occupants in the vicinity of 30th Avenue and 31st Street. One suspect fled from the auto and was apprehended after a short foot pursuit. The van and the four occupants where transported to the Queens Robbery Squad where line ups were conducted and all four suspects — Lamont Adams, Willie Winston, James Young and Joshua Walter — were arrested and charged with robbery and criminal possession of a firearm.

According to police, the suspects had entered the commercial locations armed with a gun and removed money from the register. There were no reported injuries. In all the incidents, one of the suspect wore a red “USC” sweatshirt.
