South Ozone Park man arrested, charged with DWI

On September 1, a South Ozone Park man was arrested and charged with DWI and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, according to court papers.
Carlos A. Garcia, 27, hit a police cruiser at Linden Boulevard and the Van Wyck Expressway service road. The cop noticed that Garcia appeared to be intoxicated — “a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech and was unsteady on his feet.”
Garcia was taken to the 112th Precinct, where he was given a Breathalyzer test, which determined his blood alcohol level to be above the legal limit. In addition, it was revealed that his license had been suspended eight times on four dates.
