DC 37 remembers its 9/11 heroes

Leaders of District Council 37 (DC 37) of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees remembered members who died in the attacks on the World Trade Center by placing a wreath at a memorial next to the entrance of their headquarters in lower Manhattan. DC 37 Executive Director Lillian Roberts (at left) is joined by (from right) Treasurer Maf Misbah Uddin, President Veronica Montgomery-Costa, Secretary Cliff Koppelman and other union officials, on the sixth anniversary of 9/11.
Remembered are Fire Department Chaplain Father Mychal Judge; Paramedic Carlos Lillo; EMS Lieutenant Ricardo Quinn and OTB Betting Clerk Chet Louie. Judge is remembered as the first identified fatality of that day, when his body was removed from what had been the lobby of the World Trade Center’s collapsed north tower. He was reportedly killed while administering last rites to a firefighter and woman who died together.
