A 51-year-old man remains locked up after being arrested last week for a violent assault on a woman at her Middle Village home, prosecutors announced.

David Vittor, 51, was arrested on Feb. 6 and charged with assault, attempted assault, criminal contempt, aggravated criminal contempt, burglary, petit larceny and harassment.

According to the criminal complaint that the Queens District Attorney’s office provided, at around 6 p.m. on Feb. 4, Vittor allegedly got into an argument with an unidentified female victim at her home on 67th Road about his drinking. Charges say that the argument escalated, allegedly causing Vittor to grab the victim by the hair, dragged her down the stairs and kicked her in the back.

Vittor then allegedly dragged the victim down another set of stairs to the home’s basement, law enforcement sources said. It was there that Vittor allegedly proceeded to punch the victim in the face repeatedly, stating, in sum and substance, “I’m going to kill you.”

Prosecutors said that Vittor then allegedly grabbed the victim by the hair once again and struck her head against the floor multiple times.

The victim suffered deep lacerations to the back of her head, cuts and abrasions to the side of her head and inside her mouth, bruising all over her face and as well as substantial pain, annoyance and alarm. She was taken to a local hospital, where she received 11 staples for her injuries.

Following the attack, Vittor allegedly took the victim’s cellphone and her car keys. The Queens District Attorney office declined to provide the nature of the relationship between Vittor and the victim.

The Queens Criminal Court granted the victim a temporary order of protection against Vittor, who was scheduled to return to court on Feb. 11.
