A man has been arrested following the shooting death of a 23-year-old woman, allegedly over a cell phone.
According to police, the victim, identified as Shauna Sanders, who had been on a date with the suspect, Donnell Dunson, 23, approached him with a knife, claiming that he had taken her cell phone.
Neighbors say Sanders twice pounded the top of Dunson’s car — parked on Jordan Avenue between Dunkirk and Wood Streets — before he fired, hitting her in the chest.
Sanders was pronounced dead on the scene.
Dunson was later arrested at his home on 114th Drive. He is charged with second degree murder and weapons possession.
