Arverne, Belle Harbor, Breezy Point, Broad Channel, Neponsit, Rockaway Park and Roxbury

 

            Fifty-year-old Mark DiPalma died in the waters off the Rockaways on Saturday, August 28.

Police got a call of a swimmer in distress at Beach 147th Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard. When they got on the scene, DiPalma, of Brooklyn, had been pulled from the water by lifeguards and was unconscious and unresponsive. He was taken to Peninsula Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
