Arrest in rape

The 102nd Precinct’s Special Victims Unit has made an arrest in the rape of a 35-year-old woman.

According to a police source, Kevin Pazmini, 21, who has a prior arrest record, was taken into custody.

It was on Tuesday, July 26, at approximately 6 a.m., in the vicinity of 89th Street and Jamaica Avenue that Pazmini allegedly followed the victim, a 35-year-old female, grabbed her from behind and placed her in a choke hold. He then allegedly proceeded to drag the victim into an alley where he punched her on the head, face and back and sexually assaulted her.

Maria A. Thomson, executive director of the Greater Woodhaven Development Corporation and Woodhaven Business Improvement District, expressed her thanks for the good police work.

"Anything that happens here, the 102 makes an arrest," she told The Courier. "They do so much hard work with so little. We have so much faith in them."

Pazmini is charged with rape, criminal sexual act, assault and sex abuse, according to the district attorney. His next court date is August 8.

Bank robbery suspect sought

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the man they say is wanted in connection with four bank robberies that occurred in the 75th and 104th Precincts.

According to officers, the suspect enters the locations, passes a note demanding money to the tellers and flees on foot.

The first incident occurred on Saturday, July 9 in the Chase Bank at 3380 Fulton Street; he made off with an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect did not get any money from the Chase Bank at 78-02 Metropolitan Avenue when he hit on Monday, July 18. That same day, he hit the Valley National Bank at 69-20 80th Street and made off with cash.

The last incident was on Thursday, July 21 in the Maspeth Savings Bank at 66-60 Fresh Pond Road. He fled with cash.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic man, bald, with a slim build and a mustache, last seen wearing a black Kango cap, dark sunglasses, T-shirt, shorts and sneakers

Anyone with information as to the perp’s identity or whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.

Off-duty officer arrested

An off-duty cop was arrested and subsequently suspended on Saturday, July 30.

Mynor Rodriguez, 26, of the 104th Precinct is charged with DWI.

Man arrested over parking ticket

A man who did not want to get a parking ticket ended up arrested instead.

According to a police source, Jorge Reyes, 43, noticed that a traffic enforcement agent was issuing his vehicle a summons for expired meter on Wednesday, July 27 at Liberty Avenue and 112th Street.

Following a verbal dispute, he allegedly knocked the machine from the agent’s hand, breaking it. The agent called for back-up and officers of the 106th Precinct responded.

Reyes is charged with obstructing governmental administration and criminal mischief

Man charged in fatal shooting

A man has been arrested and charged in the fatal shooting of a 28 year old.

On Saturday, July 30, officers were called to North Shore Forest Hills Hospital after a man with a gunshot wound walked into the location for treatment.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered that the victim, identified as Colin Bowlin, sustained a gunshot wound to his back in the vicinity of 113th Avenue and Sutphin Boulevard. He had been taken to the hospital by private means and was later pronounced dead.

Cops later arrested Devante L. Seabrook in connection to the shooting. He is charged with murder in the second degree.
