P.S. 97 in Woodhaven hosted various assemblies and workshops to celebrate Fire Prevention Month this October, including a workshop for parents to properly teach their children the importance of fire safety.

Lieutenant Anthony Mancuso instructed parents and guardians on how to conduct home fire drills and use smoke detectors. All in attendance received a free smoke detector from the Fire Department of New York.
