Queens parents arrested after abandoning infant at Burger King 

The parents of a four-month-old baby girl were arrested after they abandoned the helpless child inside a Queens fast food joint. Kimberly Brundidge, 22, left the infant alone on a table inside a Burger King restaurant on Rockaway Boulevard in Springfield Gardens, about 11 p.m. Tuesday. The baby’s father, Kesley Kendall, 20, works there, cops said. Kendall called police and told them he found an abandoned child, a police source said. He then remained silent while watching cops and medics examine the baby for injuries, and carted her away, the source said. Read More: Daily News

 

Four People Close To Queens Senator Huntley Indicted

Four people close to Queens Sen. Shirley Huntley were indicted today for pocketing $30,000 in state money meant for a non-profit she founded. Among those who were indicted was Huntley’s niece, who lives with her, and a  legislative aide. The two were charged with submitting a fraudulent contract to the state and five fake vouchers in order to steal the legislative member item funds. The indictments stemmed from a joint probe by the offices of Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and Controller Thomas DiNapoli. Read More: Daily News

The Queens Courier’s Best of the Boro competition’s second category received over 400 nominations, and now it is time to vote. Rockaway Residents Want Feds To Step Up Irene Repairs

Beach 94th Street is one of the spots along the boardwalk where the ocean made its way through during Hurricane Irene. “As you can see the condition of the boardwalk here, we have to wait and wait and wait,” explained John Cori of the group “Friends Of Rockaway Beach.” Cori’s group is taking the Parks Department to task for not working quickly enough to make repairs on the boardwalk where there is still a broken railing on at least one ramp leading down to the beach. Authorities yesterday revealed chilling new details about how a Queens madman allegedly ambushed his wife as she walked her dog, dragged her by the hair up her front steps, and then shot her in the head before killing her daughter. “Once I started shooting I can’t stop,” accused gunman Guerino “Mario” Annarumma, 52, allegedly confessed to cops about his maniacal bloodbath Monday — at least some of which was caught by a neighbor’s surveillance camera in Astoria. Rod Blagojevich sentenced to 14 years in prison 

Disgraced Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich was sentenced to 14 years in prison Wednesday after he admitted guilt and tearfully apologized at a sentencing hearing on Wednesday morning. The apology was a shocking turn for the normally defiant politician. “My life is in ruins. I have nobody to blame but myself for my stupidity and actions and the things I did and I thought I could do. Anti-rape app by Sunset Park filmmaker Nancy  Schwartzman wins White House contest 

A Sunset Park filmmaker is launching a free mobile-phone app to help college students out of situations that could result in rape. Nancy Schwartzman and a team of designers are readying the Circle of 6 app, as it’s called, for release in February. With two clicks of an icon, users can secretly ask trusted friends — meaning their circle of six — to give them a ride home or interrupt them with a phone call. “We want to prevent violence before it happens,” Schwartzman, 35, said Tuesday.
