Police are searching for a man who robbed and assaulted a livery cab driver in Richmond Hill recently.

Police are searching for a man who robbed and assaulted a livery cab driver in Richmond Hill recently.

The suspect placed the driver, 59, in a headlock causing the cab to crash into a fence in front a house on 112th Street at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, police said.  The suspect took money from the driver’s bag and fled.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic approximately 25 years of age, standing 5-feet-7-inches-tall, weighing 170 pounds.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
