Hours after a teen and two 20-year-olds were shot on Jamaica Avenue, another man was shot and killed less than two miles away, according to police.

Just after midnight on Friday, March 2, plain clothes officers hear gun shots near 159th Street during routine patrol, police said. The officers responded and witnessed a 19-year-old holding a gun standing over the unresponsive victim, 20, who was pronounced dead on the scene.

After seeing the officers, the suspect fled, authorities said, but was apprehended when he attempted to get into a car. The two passengers in the car were brought in for investigation. Charges are pending.
