Workers who built pinatas for party store chain sue for alleged labor law violations

A group of employees who say they worked in cramped conditions in a Queens basement to build pinatas for a chain of party stores have filed suit, claiming they were underpaid and their working conditions violated labor laws. The employees say they routinely worked 11-hour days, six or seven days a week, in the basement of a party supply store in Woodside, Queens, where they assembled pinatas. Read More: New York Post

Police ID Two Suspects In Chelsea Homicide

Police have identified two suspects wanted in connection with the death of a Chelsea man. Investigators are looking for Edwin Faulkner, 30, and Juan Carlos Martinez-Herrera, 26. Sources say John Laubach, 57, paid the two men to have sex with him. Laubach’s body was found inside his West 22nd Street apartment on March 2. Sources say his hands, feet, and mouth were bound with duct tape, and he had a towel over his face. Read More: NY1

The Knicks can’t get a win, can’t get a rebound, can’t get Carmelo Anthony happy and efficient, and can’t make the playoffs if the season ended today. FBI arrests dozens in heroin bust on Long Island

FBI agents have raided dozens of homes across Long Island, Brooklyn and Queens in a massive heroin bust. Spokesman Peter Donald confirmed Tuesday that 18 people were in custody but declined to comment further. The arrests are part of a lengthy probe into the drug on Long Island, where it has been a persistent problem. Read More: New York Post
