Another Queens parent arrested for fleeing with infant

Minutes before another Queens parent was caught for allegedly kidnapping her infant, another suspect fled with his one-year-old, police said.

Just after 8 p.m. Alexis Torres, 30, allegedly got into an argument with his wife before assaulting her and fleeing with their child, according to authorities.

The responding officers attempted to track the suspect through the Find My iPhone application. After repeated attempts, the Sergeant Peter Cassiere was finally able to track the suspect and proceeded to pursue the suspect into Manhattan where he was detained at 9:15 p.m., police said.

The officers realized that the one-year-old girl had not been changed or fed and bought diapers and baby food from a local CVS. Officer Maritza Mendez then changed and fed the child.

The child was then transported to Wyckoff Hospital for evaluation.

Torres, a Department Of Education employee, has been charged with assault, strangulation and endangering the welfare of a child.
