Composting Bookworms at Sunnyside Library

Gina Baldwin of the Queens Botanical Garden, Corrinne Sullivan of Build It Green NYC joined fouryear olds Lesly Orteg, Ashley Salazar and Dorian Andrade, Dina Gray and her two-year-old daughter Sophia, and the Botanical Garden’s Jean Kline (shown here from left to right) in a compost/play area set up in front of the Sunnyside Library on Friday, Sept. 21. Members of the NYC Compost Project showed residents how to responsibly dispose of waste and educated them on the basics of composting.
