Police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl.

A search is underway for a perp who allegedly groped a 12-year-old girl from behind in Queens on Tuesday, November 6.

Police released a sketch of the suspect wanted in connection with the assault in the confines of the 115th Precinct which includes the neighborhoods of East Elmhurst, Jackson Heights and North Corona.

At 2 p.m. on Tuesdaya man approached a 12-year-girl sexually assaulting her from behind before fleeing, according to police.

Police described the man as between 20-30 years old with acne scarring.  He was last seen wearing sunglasses, a black and white patterned hat, black-hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
