Two NYPD officers arrested for DWI in Queens

Within four days, two NYPD police officers were arrested and charged with DWI in Queens, according to authorities.

The first arrest occurred around 4 a.m. on Saturday, November 10 in the 112th Precinct, which consists of the Forest Hills and Rego Park areas of Queens, said police. The NYPD could not specify the exact location of where Officer Felix Recio, 32, was charged with driving under the influence.

The following Monday, around 3 a.m., Ismile Althaibani, 29, was also arrested for DWI as well as refusing to take a breath test. Again, authorities did not say exactly where the incident took place, but did state that it was within the 114th Precinct, which covers Astoria, Long Island City, Woodside and Jackson Heights.

According to amNY, Althaibani is also a decorated ex-Marine who served in Iraq, and was profiled in a 2006 New York Times story about Muslim servicemen.
