One man is dead and another in stable condition after a shooting this morning at a Briarwood restaurant.

Police responded to a 9-1-1 call to El Nuevo restaurant, at 144-11 Jamaica Avenue, where they found one victim with a gunshot wound to the stomach and a second victim with a shot wound to the chest. The first victim, 38, was transferred to Jamaica Hospital where he is being treated.

The second victim, identified as Jony Gonzales, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time.
