Alewife was recently honored as the "Best Beer Bar in New York City" by the website RateBeer.com.

A Queens bar was voted “The Best Beer Bar in New York City” by RateBeer.com.

Alewife, located at 5-14 51st Avenue in Long Island City, just announced the honor on January 31 on its website.

“An amazing feeling spreads through the halls of Alewife, one of joy, pride and gratefulness,” the bar said on the website. “All we care about is great beer, food and pleasing the good people that custom Alewife.”

RateBeer.com is a website that reviews bars, beers and brewers around the world. The contest awarded establishment that serve beers in different categories ranging from brew pub, restaurant, brewer tap room bottle shop, grocery and bar (the category in which Alewife won).
