The Chocolate Factory presented the 8th Annual Taste of LIC at Gantry Plaza State Park on Tuesday, June 4. The community-wide festival highlighted Long Island City’s culinary and cultural accomplishments. This year’s celebration featured food and beverage tastings from 50 restaurants and 100 local businesses. Councilmember Jimmy Van Bramer served as master of ceremonies while Council Speaker Christine Quinn and Borough President Helen Marshall offered toasts. All proceeds from the event will go towards The Chocolate Factory’s 2013-2014 season of dance, theater, music and multimedia performances.
