A young man lost his life Wednesday night when he crashed his motorcycle near Northern Boulevard.

Kiyanoush Asif, 20, of Flushing, was traveling westbound on Northern Boulevard around 5:30 p.m. when he accelerated and struck the passenger side door of a car travelling eastbound on the same roadway as it attempted to make a left turn onto Murray Street, according to police.

The vehicle remained on the scene of the accident.

The investigation is ongoing.
