Thief snatches iPhones from women on Queens subway trains

Police are looking for an iPhone thief who robbed two women in separate incidents on Queens subway trains.

Both robberies occurred on northbound M trains near the 67th Street station in Forest Hills, according to police.

On Tuesday, May 14, around 12:30 p.m., the first victim, 37, was riding on the subway looking at her iPhone when the train pulled into the 67th Avenue stop.  After the doors opened, the suspect took the victim’s phone and fled into the station. There were no reported injuries.

The second victim, 20, was on the train around 12:45 p.m. on June 6 when the suspect tried to remove her iPhone from her hands. The victim fought with the suspect and he hit her head on the train door and took her phone and her MetroCard. The suspect then fled the train at the 67th Avenue station. The victim refused medical aid at the scene.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 16 to 17 years old, around 5’10” tall and weighing 150 to 160 pounds.
