A man has been arrested for raping a woman after breaking into her Long Island City home and the suspect is no stranger, according to police and published reports.

Andres Santana, 30, entered the 22-year-old victim’s room around 3:50 a.m. Wednesday, waking her at knifepoint, and proceeded to rape the woman, said authorities.

Her father, hearing the commotion, went to investigate. The two struggled, then the suspect jumped out of a closed window, injuring himself. He managed to escape, but a bloody trail led cops to him minutes later and he was arrested.

Santana has been charged with rape, burglary, a criminal sex act, criminal mischief and menacing, said police.

According to reports, Santana once resided on 9th Street where the woman lives and was acquainted with the victim.
