It was all about reaffirming GOP pride at the opening of the campaign headquarters of 26th Assembly District Republican State Committee candidates Sal Bacarella and Anne Marie Devlin in Bayside.

“Today, we’ve come together to take the first step in not only restoring integrity to our great Queens County GOP, but to also become the new standard of fair dealing for Republicans throughout our city,” said Bacarella, an entrepreneur and civic leader.

“The scandals of the past months and years have plagued this party long enough. Today, we move in a new direction, he added. “As Ronald Reagan might have said, it’s morning in Northeast Queens.”

The two were joined at the August 24 opening by Councilmember Eric Ulrich and GOP mayoral candidate Joe Lhota.

It’s very important that we change and expand the Republican Party in New York and we’re going to start right here in Queens, said Lhota. “I’m going to do everything I can to make sure we get the right leaders elected.”

Bacarella and Devlin, a former schoolteacher who owns a construction business, are facing Queens County GOP Chairman Phil Ragusa and former Board of Elections Commissioner Judith Stupp.
