One person is dead after a messy crash on the Cross Island Parkway yesterday.

Police responded to the car accident on the thoroughfare near exit 26 at 10:15 p.m. The victim, a 49-year-old Hispanic male, was unconscious and unresponsive with trauma to his head and body when cops arrived, and EMS pronounced the man dead on arrival at the scene, authorities said.

The man was travelling northbound on the Cross Island Parkway, according to officials, and hit the right side guardrail, causing the 2005 silver Toyota Corolla he was driving to flip over. The victim was ejected from the vehicle, cops said.

The man’s name was not released at this time and the investigation is still ongoing.
