Police are searching for an attempted rapist who attacked a woman in Astoria Sunday.

A woman fought off an attempted rapist after the man attacked her as she was walking down an Astoria street Sunday, police said.

The 23-year-old victim was on 30th Avenue about 3:30 a.m. when the suspect approached her from behind and pushed her to the ground, cops said.

Once on the ground, the suspect attempted to rape the woman, according to police. She struggled with the man, who then fled.

The victim sustained cuts and scratched to her legs and buttocks during the incident, but refused medical attention on scene, the NYPD said.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male in his early 30s, 5’7″ tall and 145 pounds.
