A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run in Ozone Park Sunday night.

A bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday night after a van knocked him to the ground, then ran him over as he was riding on Rockaway Boulevard, police said.

The victim, a man in his 40s who has yet to be identified by police, was traveling along the roadway near 90th Street in Ozone Park about 9:35 p.m. when the accident occurred, officials said.

The van, a black Mercedes Benz, was driving in the same direction on Rockaway Boulevard as the victim when it sideswiped him, and the bicyclist fell and was run over.

After the van’s driver briefly stopped and got out of his vehicle, he allegedly returned to the van, and fled westbound on Rockaway Boulevard.

The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, according to police.

There are no arrests and the investigation is still ongoing.
