Two suspects posing as Con Ed workers talked their way into a 78-year-old Queens man’s home and took off with $70,000, police said.

The pair, a man and a woman, went to the victim’s 74th Avenue home just after noon on Sept. 10 and told him they needed to check his fuse box, cops said. He let them inside, and the suspects went into the basement, where they checked the fuse box, plugged a light into a receptacle and told the victim to wait for the light to change color.

While the woman and the victim waited in the basement, the other suspect went upstairs and took $70,000 from the victim’s dresser, according to authorities. The two suspects then fled the scene.

Both suspects are described as about 40 years-old and the man is described as about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 160 pounds.
