Police are looking for the driver of an SUV who struck a 63-year-old woman in Richmond Hill Sunday morning before fleeing.

The incident happened on 89th Avenue near Lefferts Boulevard about 9 a.m., police said. The driver was traveling eastbound on 89th Avenue when the car hit the woman.

The victim was transported to an area hospital where she is listed in critical condition and is likely to survive.

Police said the driver fled the scene and they are still searching for the green or gray SUV.
