An SUV fatally hit an 83-year-old man as he was crossing the street outside his South Richmond Hill home Monday night, police said.

Nfn Loknauth had just parked his car opposite his home on 103rd Avenue near 118th Street about 10:40 p.m. before the accident happened, authorities said. He then started to cross the road and was struck by a Nissan Xterra.

Loknauth was taken to Jamaica Hospital, where he died.

The SUV’s driver, a 51-year-old man, remained at the scene, according to police. There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
