Celebrate the Harvest Moon, learn about the outstanding women of Queens, sharpen your cycling skills and do more at these events around the borough.

Saturday, Aug. 29

GrowNYC Greenmarket serves the Long Island City and Astoria communities with farm-fresh fruits and vegetables and family-friendly activities. Free. 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Socrates Sculpture Park. 32-01 Vernon Blvd. For more information, visit socratessculpturepark.org.

The Queens Historical Society presents their newest exhibition, Leading the Way: Six Outstanding Women of Queens. The exhibit features women from diverse fields and backgrounds, who at one point in their lives lived and worked in Queens. Philip Seymour-Hoffman, Amy Adams and Joaquin Phoenix all received Oscar nominations for their performances in Paul Thomas Anderson’s spellbinding saga of post–World War II America, “The Master.” Phoenix creates the unforgettable Freddie Quell, a wayward soul who falls under the spell of a spiritual guru (Philip Seymour-Hoffman in one of his greatest performances), who may or may not be a huckster. Celebrate the Harvest Moon with a drum circle in Flushing Town Hall’s garden with master drummers from Puerto Rico. Begin with workshops led by the Grammy-nominated director of LP21, Juan Gutiérrez, then jam with the entire group. Tuesday, Sept. 1

Vince “V-Money” Milosevich, Billy “The Prince” Prinsell, and Samantha “My Dad Owns a Dealership” Ruddy bring you New York City’s favorite free frat party-themed standup show. The first Tuesday of every month at 10 p.m., they bring their favorite comics up to the stage to tell jokes, funnel beers, and bro out. Check it out before the college dean has it shut down. Free. The Queens College Choral Society, founded in 1941, is seeking new members for its fall 2015 concert, which will feature performances of Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” Bach’s “Magnificat” and Verdi’s “Requiem,” marvelous works of profound depth and timeless beauty.
