A 15-year-old girl is dead after being shot in the head in a Far Rockaway apartment on Friday, according to authorities.

Police were called at 12:03 p.m. after Wilta Wordsworth was shot in the head in her apartment on Collier Avenue.

EMS responding to the scene transported the teen to St. Johns Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries early Saturday morning, police said.

Two 15-year-old male suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting, and have been charged with manslaughter, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence.

Police did not release the names of the two young men because they are underage, nor any details on the circumstances of the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
