Five great destinations to discover on Citi Bike in Long Island City

After much anticipation, Citi Bike recently rolled into Queens with 12 new stations to pick up and drop off a bike in the heart of Long Island City. Always a great destination, Long Island City offers so many attractions to take advantage of from cultural institutions to the best views of the Manhattan skyline that would make any Queensite pull out their camera like a tourist or pull out their phone for a selfie. 1. MoMA PS1

MoMA PS1 is one of the oldest and largest nonprofit contemporary art institutions in the United States. An exhibition space rather than a collecting institution, MoMA PS1 devotes its energy and resources to displaying the most experimental art in the world. 2. LIC Flea & Food

Home to the All-Queens Beer Garden, LIC Flea hosts an all-star lineup of a diverse vendors that embrace the true spirit of Queens. Host to some of the best food and unique vendors, LIC Flea recruits the best in the city to provide the most memorable experience possible.  The market is located at 5-25 46th Avenue and is open from 10am-6pm every Saturday and Sunday. The Citi Bike station is located at the entrance of LIC Flea on 46th Avenue at 5th Street. “Come hungry and ready to explore!”

3. Rockaway Brewing Company

Created in the backyard among friends in Far Rockaway, the Rockaway Brewing Company produces homebrewed, handcrafted beer and can be purchased all over Queens. The Citi Bike station is located across the street 46th Avenue and 5th Street.

4. Gantry State Park

Located on the waterfront of Long Island City, Gantry State Park will provide Citi Bike riders with unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline. One stop away from the NYC subway, Gantry State Park puts the heart of the city a stone’s throw away. Use your Citi Bike to tour the river and waterfronts and see the beauty of LIC. The Citi Bike station is located at 46th Avenue and 5th Street.

5. LIC Landing

This outdoor café features a spectacular 2000 sq-ft outdoor event space and is set against the backdrop of the Manhattan skyline. LIC Landing features a selection of locally-sourced offerings, craft beers and fine wines, and COFFEED’s specialty coffees and teas. Citi Bike riders can pick up their beverages from the pick-up window and continue to their destination, or stay, enjoy the view and take advantage of the table service. Riders are also able to connect to the East River Ferry into Brooklyn or Manhattan.
