The NYPD said the accident occurred at 7:40 a.m. on Sunday morning at the corner of 71st Avenue and Kessel Street.

According to authorities, Leyla Enukasvili of Queens Boulevard was crossing Kessel Street from north to south when she was hit by a Q23 bus turning westbound onto Kessel Street from the northbound side of 71st Avenue. The bus driver, a 52-year-old man, stopped the vehicle and remained at the scene.
