Robber grabs over $2K during heist at a bank in Ridgewood

The NYPD has released a photo of the suspect.

A note-carrying crook made off with over $2,000 in a bank robbery in Ridgewood late Monday afternoon, police reported.

Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to a call of a robbery from the Capital One Bank located at 70-01 Forest Ave. at around 3:30 p.m. on Monday afternoon.

According to police, the suspect — described as a white male, standing about 5 feet 11 inches tall — entered the bank and handed the 38-year-old female employee a note demanding cash and specifically stating he did not want a dye pack.

Authorities said the employee complied with the note and handed over $2,200 in cash to the suspect, who then fled northbound along Forest Avenue on foot.

The robber was last seen wearing a light green jacket, black pants and black sneakers.

No injuries were reported, and an investigation is ongoing.
