Police arrest, charge Astoria perp who stole $4K guitar from LIC store

A man who tried to perform a vanishing act when he stole a custom Gibson guitar from a Long Island City Guitar Center has been arrested and charged, according to police.

Steven Proios, 32,  of 78th Street in Astoria walked into Guitar Center at 34-17 48th St. on Oct. 18, picked up a guitar worth $4, 650, stuffed it in his shirt and walked out, cops said.

Authorities were able to identify the suspect through video footage caught at the store.

Proios was charged with grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property and bail jumping.
