Those looking to add a new member to the family this holiday season can attend an adoption event at Wesaw Pets in Sunnyside this Saturday.

The organization Sean Casey Animal Rescue will provide the furry friends from noon to 5 p.m. at 44-05 Queens Blvd. According to Theresa Labianca, director of administration for the nonprofit, eight to 10 dogs and four to six cats will be available for adoption.

Every animal is spayed or neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped. The organization is providing one free exam at a participating veterinary office and an offer for one free month of pet health insurance, Labianca said. Adoption fees and donations are all tax deductible.

Sean Casey Animal Rescue is a no-kill animal  shelter located in Brooklyn. Started in 1998, the shelter specializes in the rescue, rehabilitation and placement of dogs, cats, reptiles, birds and small mammals.
