Petals & Roots, a full-service flower shop that opened in Astoria in 2012, is bringing its creations to The Falchi Building.

Owners Alex and Peter Avdoulos come from a family of florists — both of their families owned flower shops — and make all their arrangements the day before. They offer fresh arrangements, terrariums, loose bouquets and more and make custom arrangements for weddings and other events.

“We do it all just like any other [flower shop] but just with more TLC [tender loving care],” Alex Avdoulos said.

The partnership with The Falchi Building started when the couple visited the building to do plant maintenance for SPACES, a co-working space housed in the building. Avdoulos said she loved the atmosphere and thought it would be a great place to introduce people to their items. Their brick-and-mortar store, located at 31-27 31 St., does not always get foot traffic and Avdoulos wanted to give people an opportunity to “stop and shop.”

“We love Falchi,” Avdoulos said. “It’s such a creative-looking space and we thought it would be really nice to get new exposure.”

Avdoulos will be offering bud vases, wreaths, flower arrangements, terrariums, loose bouquets and gift-able items like candles and ornaments “priced in a very friendly way.”

Patrons can visit the pop-up shop this Friday and next Friday, Dec. 18, from noon to 6 p.m. To view their custom creations, visit the shop’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
