Detectives charged a South Jamaica man Wednesday night in connection with the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old man on a neighborhood street last weekend.

Neon Osouna, 35, of Guy R. Brewer Boulevard is awaiting arraignment in Queens Criminal Court on charges of murder and criminal possession of a weapon for allegedly killing Donald Reed, 35, of 164th Street.

Reed was shot in the neck and torso outside a location on Guy R. Brewer Boulevard between 107th and 108th avenues ― within walking distance of Osouna’s residence ― at 6:45 a.m. on Dec. 26. Paramedics rushed him to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to published reports, Reed was walking home from a Christmas party with three friends when Osouna and an unidentified perpetrator approached them and fired multiple shots. No other injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
