Ozone Park man found fatally shot in his home, may be ‘drug related’: cops

Police are continuing to investigate the death of a 51-year-old man who was found shot inside his home on Monday morning.

Authorities said Frankie Nieves was discovered with a gunshot wound to his chest in his residence on Peconic Street near Boss Street at 7:56 a.m. Monday.

Officers from the 106th Precinct responded to the scene along with paramedics, who rushed Nieves to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In a post on the 106th Precinct Community Council’s Facebook page, Deputy Inspector Jeffrey Schiff, the 106th Precinct’s commander, indicated the homicide appears to be drug related, and two Hispanic males were believed to have been involved.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
