No foul play suspected in death of homeless man in Jamaica park

The homeless man reportedly had a history of alcoholism.

A homeless man was found dead in Jamaica’s Major Mark Park on Saturday.

Edwin Ramkhalawan, 60, was found at 7:21 a.m. by police responding to a 911 call of an unconscious man in the park at 175th Street and Warwick Crescent.

EMS pronounced him dead at the scene and his family has been notified.

Although the medical examiner has yet to determine his cause of death, police sources say that no criminality is suspected. Ramkhalawan was known to be homeless and had a history of alcohol abuse.
