Amy Schumer films scenes in Astoria for her comedy show

Amy Schumer, the rising comedian and actor with her own Comedy Central show, paid a visit to Astoria on Feb. 2 to film scenes for “Inside Amy Schumer.”

Schumer and others were spotted outside of Plaza Lounge on 30th Avenue.

“We did some snooping around and according to our information the filming on 30th Avenue outside Plaza Lounge is all about the TV series ‘Inside Amy Schumer’ starring comedian Amy Schumer,” a Facebook post for the bar and grill said.

According to the Plaza Lounge’s Facebook page, paparazzi were seen hovering around the restaurant around 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

“Inside Amy Schumer” first aired on April 30, 2013, on Comedy Central. The third season premiered last April and a fourth season was ordered that day. On Jan. 6, the show was renewed for a fifth season.

The show has received a Peabody Award and was nominated for eight Primetime Emmy Awards. The show won an award for outstanding variety sketch series and a Creative Arts Emmy for outstanding original music and lyrics for the song “Girl You Don’t Need Makeup.”
