Man wakes up from nap on 7 train to find his belongings have been stolen

A quiet nap on an early morning 7 train turned into a nightmare for one straphanger who woke up at the Court Square stop in Long Island City only to discover that his personal possessions were gone.

According to police, the 28-year-old victim entered the 90th Street-Elmhurst Avenue station at about 4:40 a.m. on Feb. 21 and fell asleep. When he woke up at the Court Square station, he found that his watch, Samsung cellphone and wallet with his ID and credit card were missing.

Surveillance video uncovered by police found that at about 1:59 p.m. the suspect used the card to purchase Nike Air Jordan sneakers at a K Sports in Jackson Heights.
