A man remains in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle near the entrance to the Queens Midtown Tunnel in Long Island City on Sunday night, police said.
The 53-year-old man was hit at the intersection of 21st Street and 49th Avenue at about 10 p.m., according to authorities. When police arrived, they found him on the crosswalk, unconscious and unresponsive.
He was transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where he is in critical condition.
The NYPD did not provide a description of the vehicle that struck the man.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
