Steinway Street in Astoria will welcome new high-end retail neighbors with the addition of a 100,000-square-foot development site.

Located at 34-30 Steinway St., the site includes four floors of retail space, with each floor measuring about 30,000 square feet each. Parking will also be included. A spokesperson for Winick Realty Group, the leasing firm responsible for marketing, said the company is in talks with national big box retailers to move in.

“All we can say is that we are in talks with the best-in-class gourmet markets, entertainment and restaurants, and home improvement stores,” Michelle Loeb, director of public relations for Winick Realty Group, said.

The site is expected to be complete by 2018 and may be purchased by several tenants or one if they require the entire 100,000 square feet of space. Surrounding the site are the newly opened coworking space WeWork, Museum of the Moving Image and Kaufman Astoria Studios.

Aaron S. Fishbein and Daniel D. DePasquale of Winick Realty Group are in charge of marketing the space.
