Whitestone residents were not only awakened this morning by helicopters above the Whitestone Expressway, they also experienced major delays on their way to work.

Emergency units responded to a multi-vehicle car crash on Whitestone Expressway on Tuesday at 6:05 a.m. A vehicle overturned on the Cross Island Parkway near the Whitestone Bridge, and at least two other vehicles were involved in the crash.

One person was taken to NewYork Presbyterian/Queens hospital in Flushing with minor injuries according to FDNY spokesperson.

“My husband sat in traffic over an hour this morning coming home from work in the Bronx. It normally takes him 15 min to get home,” Kerry Ann Arciuolo posted in Facebook group We Love Whitestone.
