A woman died on Sunday afternoon after the driver of the car she was in hit a parked car in Jackson Heights.

The 86-year-old driver of a 2006 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on 34th Avenue and 91st Street at approximately 2:17 p.m. when it struck an unoccupied 2016 Chevrolet, police said. Amy Huang, 83, of 73rd Street in Jackson Heights was in the passenger seat.

The collision forced the Chevrolet on to the sidewalk where it collided with scaffolding. Both passengers were taken to Elmhurst Hospital, police said. The driver was treated for lacerations to his arm, but Huang was pronounced dead after sustaining serious head and body trauma.
